We love 'em!
Beakerhead looks and feels like one of the most engaging and delightful ways you could spend five glorious days in September.
Look a little deeper and you’ll see that Beakerhead couldn’t be more important to our future – as individuals, as companies, and as a culture.
For decades, we have been streaming people into either technical or creative occupations, and yet it is precisely at their intersection where ingenuity lives.
So what happens when art does not meet science? Bright kids suffer at desks. Students, especially girls, get alienated from math and science, because it does not feel socially relevant. The full potential of future leaders is trimmed. Both teachers and students feel bound to silos of teaching and learning. And it follows us into the workplace, where the reward system has a hard time recognizing and supporting truly innovative problem-solving.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Enter Beakerhead, a delightful smash up of art, science and engineering. It removes barriers between people and sectors of society. It is inclusive and delightful. Think of it as a test drive for the world we want to create – together!
“My time at Beakerhead was amazing I got to try a lot of new things and it was one of the best experiences of my entire life!” Ignition Crew member (age 12)
