The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth
We love 'em!
The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth empowers immigrant youth and families to fulfill their potential in Canadian society. Calgary continues to attract new immigrants from around the world but once newcomers arrive, it’s not uncommon to feel like a fish out of water, especially if you’re a child or teenager. Language barriers, cultural differences and a lack of understanding of Canadian ways present an uphill battle that can lead to frustration and sadness.
This is where we come in. We offer guidance, support and programs to immigrants, newcomers and refugees that have chosen to make Canada their new home. Our programs equip youth with social, emotional and life skills while also helping learn about Canadian culture and find a sense of belonging. We deliver programs right in schools, libraries and housing complexes with the highest need for our support. Through workshops on employment laws, parent, health care, money management and more, we empower families to succeed.
We are building the next generation of Canadians by creating a stable foundation that helps young immigrants and adults to become contributing members of our society and economy.
